Reigning "Dancing with the Stars" champ Nicole Scherzinger has a new dance partner when she guest-stars on "How I Met Your Mother."

Nicole plays Jessica Glitter, a former '80s teen star who co-hosted "Space Teens" with Robin Sparkles (Cobie Smulders). When Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) finds a copy of the Canadian kids show, the fun begins!

"I enjoy doing it so much and I think the writers enjoy writing it," Cobie tells ET of the Robin Sparkles episodes. "It is so obscene and so out of the box. It is one of those things where they can really get away with a lot and write bizarre things."

When "How I Met Your Mother" features Robin Sparkles, there is always a lot of tongue-in-cheek dialogue with lots of sexual innuendo. This time around is no exception with a song titled, "Two Beavers are Better Than One."

"It is a beautiful song about friendship, having fun and beavers," Cobie says with a straight face. "We communicate on the show through our beavers [puppets] and that is just what girls do."

"It's kind of being inspired by Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, 'Kids Incorporated' and 'The Breakfast Club,'" says Nicole, who reveals she did research on Robin Sparkles and learned, "the magic is in the song."

Nicole was in Europe prior to filming "How I Met Your Mother," so she hadn't had a chance to watch the new season of "Dancing with the Stars," but she says she is rooting for Derek Hough, her former partner, and his partner Jennifer Grey."

"He is my partner for life," she tells ET.

"How I Met Your Mother" airs tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS.
