Sherri Shepherd to Tie the Knot

ET has learned that the "View" co-host is engaged. Sherri will marry TV writer Lamar Sally, who proposed the day after Christmas with lights, Sherri's Santa-clad dog, and a ring hidden in a bowlful of M&M's.
The happy couple plans to wed in August in Chicago, according to the couple's rep. Lamar asked Sherri's five-year-old son, Jeffrey, for permission before he popped the question.
