"Jersey Shore"'s Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi promoted her new book in a hilarious appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Snooki's new novel A Shore Thing, out now, follows a fictional young woman, Gia, loosely based off the author. The story's protagonist gets trapped in situations that Snooki called "a little vulgar."

Ellen DeGeneres asked the reality star to clarify between fact and fiction: "Now, when you say: if you didn't black out it's a good night for you, are you serious?" Ellen asked.

"Yes, because I want to remember my night and sometimes I just don't," said Snooki. The tanned guidette jokingly added, "So you're like, 'What did I do? Why did I wake up in a garbage can?'"

The diminutive star playfully dismissed Ellen's suggestion that she not drink at all: "That's not fun," she kidded.

In a recent interview with ET, Snooki candidly revealed, "I don't go out and drink like I used to, but I can still have fun."

In line with her new lifestyle, Snooki told Ellen that she toned down parts of her novel, being mindful of her teenage fans, but the book isn't entirely clean. "I'm not trying to be a role model," Snooki said.

Snooki's interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" airs Wednesday, January 5.
