"Hot in Cleveland" star Valerie Bertinelli got married on New Year's Day in a surprise wedding. Now she talks to ET about the happy event.
"It was a beautiful day in Malibu," Valerie tells ET, flashing her diamond ring. "You can call me Sadie now."
And Valerie's "Hot" co-star Wendie Malick adds, "She was a beautiful bride."
Valerie married her fiancé, businessman Tom Vitale during a New Year's party.
"As far as we all knew, it was a New Year's Day party," Wendie tells ET. "They do that annually. The invitation was a little mysterious. It said 4:15 a special event; 4:45 a picture. We were late because we had an escaped miniature donkey, so we showed up just as they were walking down the aisle. A friend had called me and said, 'You better get over here. It is a wedding and they are not going to wait.' It was so much fun. They are such a cute couple."
It has been a great couple of years for the Jenny Craig spokeswoman, who lost enough weight on the diet plan that she did a bikini photo shoot, she is back on TV with a hit series and she married the love of her life.
As for finding all this happiness and satisfaction at this point in time, the 50-year-old actress says, "I am so grateful to be experiencing this now at my age. I appreciate it more now than I did in my 20s. I couldn't be more grateful for the life I have now. I enjoy coming to work and playing with these ladies."
"Hot in Cleveland" debuts its second season on January 19.
