ET confirms Charlie Sheen has been fired from CBS show "Two and a Half Men."

Warner Brothers released the following statement: "After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen’s services on 'Two and a Half Men' effective immediately."

This news comes moments after Sheen announced that he was hiring an intern. The actor tweeted: "I'm looking to hire a #winning INTERN with #TigerBlood." According to Internships.com, the now former "Two and a Half Men" star is looking for a "Social Media Intern to manage the logistics around his social media efforts, monitor the day-to-day activities on the major social media platforms, prepare for exciting online projects and increase his base of followers."

The first round applications are being accepted now through Friday, March 11, 2011 at midnight. The ad says that applicants will have the following two weeks to upload their resume on Internships.com for second round consideration. The paid summer internship is for eight weeks and will begin on a date that is agreed upon by "Team Sheen" and the intern.

Last week, Sheen set the Guinness World Record for the Fastest Time to Reach 1 Million Followers on a Twitter account. The actor also appeared on a live web cast Saturday night with former MTV veejay Simon Rex, one of his goddesses, who he called "Napalm Nattie," and a man named Rick.
