Nick Jonas Makes 'Idol' Sister's Dream Come True
Nick Jonas and Ryan Seacrest had a special surprise for eliminated "American Idol" contestant Karen Rodriguez.
After Karen mentioned on "American Idol" that her sister was a huge fan of Nick Jonas, Ryan surprised her by flying Nick out to meet her on Monday's On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.
When Jonas snuck up behind Karen live on the air, she teared up, saying, "I'm so happy for my sister. I think this tops my 'American Idol' experience, this is all my sister wanted and I'm so glad I can make her dream come true by trying to make mine come true."
Nick said, "I was in Austin the past couple days at South by Southwest and I was looking at my Twitter feed, and all of a sudden it started blowing up with all of this 'American Idol' love, and I was trying to figure out what was going on. All these people kept telling me about you and what you said, so I got on a plane back here."
They put in a call to Karen's sister, who was understandably thrilled to be speaking to her idol, who crooned "When You Look Me in the Eyes" for her. "You're a really beautiful person and such an inspiration. … God bless you, you're a genius," Karen's sister told Nick.
Karen joked, "This was my purpose, I fulfilled my purpose, now I got eliminated, great!"
