George Lopez has apologized to Kirstie Alley for comments he made on Wednesday's "Lopez Tonight," comparing the actress and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant to a pig.
Lopez tweeted, "I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie."
Alley responded with tweets of her own, writing to Lopez, "I don't need or want ur apology...I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted...give it back." (Lopez famously received a kidney donated by his wife to save his life. The two later split up amid reported allegations that Lopez was unfaithful.)
Alley also tweeted, "I don't consider 'I misjudged the joke' an apology," going on to compare the apology to a husband saying he "misjudged" cheating on his wife, and adding, "sorry hon..hehe."
In the comments that started the Twitter exchange of words, Lopez said Wednesday of Alley's performance on "Dancing with the Stars," "She did a nice job. Her little hooves tapping away."
Lopez then said of the actress, "Before the show, she went to the market. Then she had roast beef, and this is her going all the way home." The late night host then cut to a video of a pig squealing, from a recent GEICO commercial.
