Earlier this month, Katie Holmes' daughter Suri Cruise was spotted holding a package of penis-shaped gummies and Katie clarified the story on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in an interview airing Thursday.

Katie explained to Ellen that she did not give the candy to her four-year-old, like some news outlets had implied, but that the mishap was just a freak accident, which ironically occurred at a New York City family restaurant called Serendipity 3.

"We go in and we're waiting for a table and [Suri] grabs some gummies that are boy-part gummies and I was horrified," said Katie. "And I said, 'Oh wow, those aren't Swedish Fish.'"

The actress revealed that she quietly put the candy back without scolding Suri so that she wouldn't have to explain the birds and the bees to the toddler, saying, "I thought if I said put that back and then she's going to say, what is this? And I really didn't want to have that conversation."

Katie can be seen in the upcoming TV mini-series "The Kennedys" set to debut April 3 on the ReelzChannel. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" airs weekdays on NBC.
