Maksim Chmerkovskiy Drops Kirstie Alley on 'Dancing With the Stars'

One too many people must have told Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley to break a leg before their "Dancing with the Stars" performance on Monday night.

Just a few steps into their emotional rumba to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," Maks' thigh gave out on him as he lowered Kirstie in an attempted graceful move. After a brief pause, the pro decided in true showbiz fashion that the show must go on.

He fought through till the end, but Maks was clearly in pain as he grimaced through the remainder of the dance. He explained the mishap afterwards: "My thigh just gave out. I'm so sorry."

A long week of rehearsals aside, the performance stage of the ballroom proved to be unpredictable yet again. One of the most memorable moments in "Dancing With the Stars" history came when Marie Osmond fainted on live television while receiving her judges' critiques.

Despite the fall, Maks and Kirstie were awarded 21 out of a possible 30 points. To see if the accident cost them the chance to claim the mirrorball trophy as their own, tune in to the "Dancing With the Stars" results show on Tuesday night on ABC.
