"The Biggest Loser" fitness trainer, Jillian Michaels, has struck fear into the souls of those she's trained and now the task master is facing one of the biggest fears of her own life - adopting a child.
"It's an amazing process," said Jillian, who has been in the process for 10 months. "I'm absolutely terrified because it's like you have this little person and you don't want to mess them up."
Unfortunately children don't come with a manual like Jillian's new book Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life, which has made it possible for fans to receive her training without being cast on the show.
"Unlimited is really everything that I do when I work with contestants on 'The Biggest Loser' or when I used to do personal training to help people change their mind," said Jillian. "It's really the how-to of self-help."
Jillian believes that the motivation to embody a healthier lifestyle must come from within the person doing the training and might take more mental strength than physical.
"It's about the kind of action that you take," said Jillian. "Because if you take action that isn't deliberate or isn't focused, isn't educated, isn't meticulous then you can actually do damage in your life, get discouraged and kind of fall off the wagon. So, it's a three part process."
Those parts are imagine, believe and achieve.
For moms concerned about losing their baby weight, Jillian professed that the approach is the same: "Weight loss is weight loss," said Jillian. "The science is exactly the same. It's all about controlling calories and working out."
Unlimited: How to Build an Exceptional Life is available now. And you can watch Jillian in action on "The Biggest Loser" Tuesdays on NBC.
