Russell Brand: My Dysfunctional Cat Takes Valium

Published

We've got a sneak peek of Russell Brand stopping by "Rachael Ray" to chat about a wide range of topics including his misbehaving cats and Britain's royal wedding.

When Rachael asks the 'Arthur' star who he would buy an extravagant gift for if he had unlimited money, Russell said he would choose his three cats, all of which he says are spoiled despite them being mischievous "jerks."

"One of them, Morrissey -- the oldest -- he's on Valium, cat Valium," Russell tells Rachael. The actor says he wouldn't have even thought about getting help for his cats before moving to the Los Angeles. "I didn't think I'd ever have a cat psychiatrist in my house, let alone a man waving a crystal over my cat's head."

When asked whether he planned to watch the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the British actor joked, "If I was glued to the TV, that's the only way I'd watch it." But Russell -- who married pop star Katy Perry last October in India -- did say he has warmed up somewhat to the royal family.

"I don't know, the royal wedding, I like it. Since I've been in your country America, I am more interested in the royal family. Before when I was in England, I thought, they're repressing us -- bloody aristocracy -- power to the people, fight the system. Now I think ah, what a lovely dress."
