After 41 years on the air ABC has announced that the popular soap opera 'All My Children' will broadcast it's last episode this September, to the chagrin of one of the show's former stars, Kelly Ripa.

"This is like losing a member of your family," said Kelly, who launched her career on the program over 20 years ago. "'All My Children' was more than a job -- it was my family. It was there that I met my husband; it was there when my first two children were born; it was there where I met many of my life-long friends. It was the greatest training ground ever. I feel heartsick."

Kelly's husband Mark Consuelos joined the daytime drama in 1995. The couple has since had three children together.

Along with "All My Children," ABC will also be canceling "One Life to Live," which has enjoyed a 43-year-run that is scheduled to conclude in January 2012.
