Chris Harrison reveals to ET that villainous contestant Bentley departs "The Bachelorette" in next Monday's episode in such dramatic fashion that it leaves Ashley Hebert completely devastated and nearly halted production on the show.
Bentley -- a 28-year-old businessman from Salt Lake City, UT -- quickly became the target of criticism after making disrespectful comments about Ashley and saying flat out: "She's just not my type." But despite his jerk-like behavior, Ashley still falls for him and indicates in the last episode she doesn't want him to leave.
But Chris tells us he is definitely out: "I can tell you, Monday night, Bentley is leaving the show, he is gone. How it happens, how this goes down, will be one of the most talked about moments we have ever had on this show."
Compared to past villains on the show, Chris said Bentley just seems to have "bad intentions," and he thinks this is where people will draw the line. "What Bentley did, and the things he said, and the things he will do and say, in my opinion, crossed that line. It's not cute, it's not funny."
Chris reveals that Ashley was shocked and hurt when the situation with Bentley ultimately ends. "She's devastated. I mean, look, she's fallen for this guy, and she'll even talk about Monday night on the show that she has fallen in love with this guy. He was easily the front-runner, so absolutely she's devastated, and to the point where it actually almost shut down production on the show."
Watch the video to hear Chris also describe how the competition's masked contestant will finally be unveiled. "The Bachelorette" airs Monday nights on ABC.
