Elizabeth Hurley to join Season Five of 'Gossip Girl'

OMGG! The Upper East Side is abuzz, as ET confirms that Elizabeth Hurley will join the upcoming fifth season of "Gossip Girl."

Executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran have announced that the actress will guest star in a multi-episode arc as Diana Payne, described to Michael Ausiello of TVLine.com as "a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with."

When the new character brushes shoulders with our favorite heirs and heiresses, fans can expect plenty of juicy drama. "Diana's entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters -- including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself," the producers told Ausiello.

Those working on the steamy CW soap are very excited about this new spin. "Elizabeth's sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly," producers raved to Ausiello.
