Kimberly McCullough Done With 'General Hospital'

Daytime soap operas, which have been on a steady decline, took yet another blow with the departure of Kimberly McCullough, a long-time actress on General Hospital.

Soap Opera Digest released the disappointing news on their Facebook page: "GH's Kimberly McCullough (Robin) is exiting Port Charles, but will air into the early months of 2012. 'Kimberly McCullough has decided to pursue her dream of directing full-time, so she has decided to leave GENERAL HOSPITAL as storyline dictates,' says a show spokesperson."

McCullough has played the role of Robin Scorpio on General Hospital intermittently since she was 7 years old. At of the end of November, she will have appeared in over 750 episodes of the show and has been a regular on the show since 2006.

The 33-year-old actress wrote and directed a comedy short entitled Nice Guys Finish Last this year and will appear in a comedy-horror film called Among Friends in 2013.
