Maya's Connection to Hollywood Severed Head Case

Comedic actress Maya Rudolph covered a deathly serious subject on Conan earlier this week, revealing her connection to the case of the severed head found near the famous Hollywood sign.

A dog discovered the severed head on January 17 while being walked through a Runyon Canyon, sparking one of the largest searches in the Los Angeles Police Department's history.

"It was my friend's dog," said Maya. "I think he's a digger. He was digging, and he came out all proud with this bag, and something fell out, and it was the head."

The dog, a golden retriever named Ollie, was then placed in the back of a squad car and taken to the police station. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has nominated Ollie for an award, but, as Maya joked, we'll have to sit tight to find out the outcome.

"He's gotta wait to see if somebody else came up with something better than finding a head," Maya kidded.
