After an exciting premiere to the Dancing with the Stars season, ET caught up with the contestants backstage, including Katherine Jenkins, who revealed that she was surprised to receive the highest score for a premiere night.
"I am stunned. I totally did not expect that," the 31-year-old classical crossover singer admitted. "I think you could see it on my face. I thought I was going to cry."
All of the contestants maintained that the competition is looking fierce this season, which is causing them to work their hardest and exhibit their best on the dance floor.
"What I know to expect is that everybody is good," actress Melissa Gilbert said. "There's not even just bringing an 'A' game. We've got to bring something even more. So, I want to start rehearsing [next week's dance] now."
Disney star Roshon Fegan's dancing partner Chelsie Hightower echoed similar sentiments, proclaiming, "It's going to be an amazing season and I'm really excited about it. I'm so excited to be in such a packed-full-of-talent cast because what better way to push you to be even better?"
The competition will be even stiffer next week as an elimination will take place on Tuesday after Monday night's show at 8 p.m. on ABC.
