Week 4: 'DWTS' Goes Rock 'N' Roll

A night of performances inspired by rock hits started with a fiery, pyrotechnic-assisted bang Monday evening as the legendary band KISS ushered in week four of Dancing with the Stars.

Sherri Shepherd and partner Val Chmerkovskiy were first up tonight, ditching their often-bubbly routines for a dark and mysterious Tango. The pair was praised for their adventuresome spirit with triple 7s, but gained some criticism for losing their "sparkle" in the process.

Jaleel White's Ex Continues Bitter War of Words

Katherine Jenkins embraced her inner bad girl this week for a lively Paso Doble. The routine was a crowd pleaser, although the judges found the dance lacking. In the end, the panel dished out 24 points (8,8,8).

Jaleel White embodied his Family Matters alter-ego "Stephan Urkel" last week, and tonight, White called upon rock god Mick Jagger to add some spice to his Tango with Kym Johnson. Overall the dance was a hit, earning the couple an 8 and two 7s.

Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy took their rock-inspired bull fighter routine to the stage with gusto, which Carrie Ann Inaba praised as their "best performance by far." In the end, the pair came away with a modest 22 points (7,8,7) and, unfortunately, an undisclosed injury for Gilbert which host Tom Bergeron later confirmed. "She injured herself," he announced, "and as a precaution she's gone to the hospital to get checked out."

Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd were up next with a "psychedelic" Paso Doble which the judges commended across the board. The couple was rewarded with three 9s, their highest score yet.

William Levy's 'DWTS' B-ball Jive Drive!

Gladys Knight showed off some fancy footwork in her Tango this week, a routine praised by Carrie Ann as her most "ambitious." The 67-year-old was cheered on by the legendary Little Richard who could be seen looking on from the audience in the moments before she received a solid score of 20 (7,6,7) from the judges.

William Levy struggled at first, but ultimately found his inner rock god with the help of glam metal band Steel Panther. The Telenovela star and partner Cheryl Burke earned a respectable 22 (7,7,8) for their Jive, delivered with a few words of disappointment from all three on the panel for their occasional missteps tonight.

Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower wowed with their Viennese Waltz, earning 26 points (9,8,9) and the highest praise from Carrie Ann who called the Disney star "the best dancer" of all the male contestants in the competition.

Karina Smirnoff Rips Open William Levy's Shirt

Gavin DeGraw tackled the Tango with partner Karina Smirnoff bringing home 23 (8,8,7) points for their darkly enchanting dance. Apart from notes on his posture, DeGraw took home overwhelmingly good feedback for his turn on the dance floor.
