Today brought some good news and bad news for fans of Two and a Half Men, as the show lost a key member while holding on to its main characters.
Showrunner Lee Aronsohn is exiting the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter, leaving writer-producers Don Reo and Jim Patterson to reportedly fill in the missing spot as co-showrunners with Chuck Lorre, the sitcom's co-creator.
Meanwhile, stars Ashton Kutcher, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones have all reportedly finalized one-year deals to continue with the show in the fall in the event that it gets picked up by CBS for another season.

THR reports that even though ratings have been down lately, the show still proves lucrative for the network and is likely to get a go-ahead on a 10th season in light of the key cast members signing deals.
This news follows Aronsohn's controversial comments made in April, which some interpreted as sexist.
"Enough, ladies. I get it. You have periods," he told THR when discussing women-centric television. "We're approaching peak vagina on television, the point of labia saturation."

Contrarily, Aronsohn did single out Whitney Cummings, Chelsea Handler and Tina Fey as innovators who warranted praise for "discussing formerly taboo subjects on TV."
