Should Hillary C. Be Wary of 'Political Animals'?

In USA's Political Animals, Sigourney Weaver plays a former first lady and current secretary of state navigating the shark-filled waters of D.C. So, how close does her role mirror the real life and career path of Hillary Clinton?

"I think that it's inspired by families like the Clintons, the Kennedys, the Bushes, [but] it's much more about these individuals [on the show]," Sigourney tells ET. "Some of the circumstances may sort of sound familiar, but as soon as I started reading [the script], I forgot about the real people because I was quite caught up by this fascinating, dysfunctional family."

The six-part limited series, premiering July 15, pulls back the curtain on the polished facade of a former first family as they navigate the complex world of political and personal ambition. As Elaine Barrish Hammond, Sigourney must deal with crises of the State Department while fielding a vulnerable family on the verge of falling apart, all the while fending off a hungry DC journalist (Carla Gugino) who is bent on destroying her career. Ellen Burstyn, Ciarán Hinds, James Wolk, Sebastian Stan and Brittany Ishibashi also star.
