Exclusive Clip: 'Hell on Wheels'

In the clip, Elam (played by Common, in an expectation-redefining role) reunites with Eva (Robin McLeavy) after their relationship was torn asunder at the end of season one. Will the new year provide a new opportunity for love?

Perhaps not since in this interview, Common implies that Elam's Hell-acious journey is just beginning! "Of course it's fun to get into some gun fights," he says. "But I really enjoy the scenes where I get to express some of the pain, some of the growth, some of the love, some of the doubt and fears. I'm very excited to see Elam go through things that a human being experiences and the progress that comes within that struggle."

Hell on Wheels premieres August 12 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
