On his new sitcom Go On, Matthew Perry fictionally plays a sportscaster, but had the real-life opportunity to enter the sports world on Wednesday night by throwing the honorary first pitch at a baseball game.

Perry jumped right into the mix at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday to not only throw out the first pitch but also to announce the roster of the home team Los Angeles Dodgers in front of a jam-packed crowd of over 50,000.

The comedy star revealed before the game that he was nervous to throw the first pitch to home plate in front of the large crowd, and was anxious to get it over with so he could enjoy the game.

Perry had the all-around experience, and got to sit in the Dodgers home dugout, where he met manager Don Mattingly and Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda and brushed shoulders with some of the players. He witnessed a close game as well, as the visiting San Diego Padres overcame the Dodgers late in the game.
