"I called my mom to tell her I'm in the hospital and in labor, and she was like, 'Okay, well how much time do I have, because I was going to take a swim," says Kate. "She shows up and I have not eaten in like 10 hours. She shows up with a pizza and Doritos."

But then the situation got even stranger, explains the star: "She wants to be in control of everything. She puts on these reading glasses that have headlights on them … and she brings this large magnolia, and she sort of starts to do these visualizations with me, and she’s going, 'Imagine your vajayjay as a large magnolia flower blossoming.' I’m like, 'Mom, I don’t want to imagine anything on my body that big -- ever.' I mean, it was huge."

Kate also regales how her fiancé, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy, started "crawling towards the thing setting up the flip camera to try and get the right angle on the birth … It really was a Woody Allen film."

Still, all worked out well: "It was pretty intense, but it was incredible, and Matt was just amazing. And you know it was 18 hours of labor and 4 1/2 hours of pushing."
