"There's going to be a lot more personal stories," reveals Joe Mantegna, who plays agent David Rossi on the procedural drama.

In particular, season eight promises one facet of Mantegna's character that the actor can't wait to delve into: his three ex wives.

"I said, 'If you're going to have me married three times let's deal with that a little bit'," he laughs, adding that his military past will play a key factor this season as well.

Another fun thing to look forward to this year is the addition of cast member Jeanne Tripplehorn, who joins the team as profiler, Alex Blake, filling the void left by seven-season Criminal Minds veteran Paget Brewster.

"She's great," raves co-star Matthew Gray Gubler. "It's going to be a good year, I think."

You can catch the season eight premiere of Criminal Minds on Wednesday, September 26 on CBS.
