Aspiring singers will get another chance to win the $5 million dollar prize as FOX has picked up Simon Cowell's competition The X Factor for a third season.

"I couldn't be happier about The X Factor already being renewed for another season," Cowell in a statement after the announcement. "I am so proud of the show and the team who have made it this season... The gloves are off! Expect fireworks!" he added.

The show was significantly revamped after its first season, which received lower ratings than predicted by Cowell. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato joined Cowell this season at the judges' table and Khloe Kardashian Odom and Mario Lopez were recently names the show's new co-hosts.

Also getting a third season order is Showtime's Emmy-winning drama Homeland, which stars Claire Danes as a bi-polar afflicted CIA officer and Damian Lewis, a U.S. war hero who ends up collaborating with Middle Eastern extremists to carry out a terrorist attack. Coming on the heels of Homeland's biggest ratings yet, Showtime has ordered 12 new one-hour episodes for season three.

There was also good news Monday for The CW action series Arrow, which the network has decided to keep around for the second half of the season and ordered more episodes. The news was broken by the show's star Stephen Amell on Twitter. "Best way to start a Monday? Getting picked up for your back nine episodes. Thwick," he tweeted.
