British students received an A+ treat earlier this month when Will Smith made a surprise appearance during what they believed would be a standard school assembly to inspire and lead them in an impromptu sing-a-long.
Yes, the crowd went wild when Will launched into the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, proving that 15 years has done nothing to dilute the show's importance. The actor was in England to take a tour of "real London," which is what brought him to St Martin in Tulse Hill.
A spokesman for the Black Cultural Archives, who led Smith's tour, said, "Many discussions took place, including questions around identity and belonging, young people and life chances. Will Smith was very interested in these discussions especially as this chimes with his support of the President of the United States, Barack Obama and his work with the National Museum of African-American History and Culture." Watch the students freak out over Will's song and then hear some of his inspiring words.
