Robin Roberts gave fans an update on her medical recovery on Thursday and disclosed that she had to return to the hospital last week while vacationing in Florida.

"Last week, in the middle of my Key West vacation, I began not to feel well. Nothing serious, just under the weather," the Good Morning America co-host wrote on her Facebook page. Roberts, 52, explained that she then contacted her doctors, who suggested that she fly back to New York and enter the hospital a few days for observation. "Seems my young immune system needed a little boost to fight off 'opportunistic infections,'" she explained.

"My doctors assured me that this was NOT because I was working or doing too much, too soon. It's extremely common, post bone marrow transplant, to have complications. I'm blessed that mine have not been severe," she added.

Roberts also expressed her condolences to the people of Boston after the tragic bombings there and said, "It saddens me that I haven't been able to join my colleagues in covering this important story." She did say that she's now feeling much better and will be relaxing at home in preparation for her scheduled return to GMA next week.
