Magic Is In the Air at 'Grey's'
Drama continues to ensue at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital. The team is met with the miraculous story of a new patient who survives being cut in half as the result of a faulty magic trick, thus inspiring the name of the episode, "Do You Believe In Magic."
ET has a sneak peek of the new episode which catches up with the colorful lives of the doctors at Grey-Sloan, starting with Dr. Owen Hunt, played by Kevin McKidd, and his struggle to find a proper home for Ethan. Owen has gone above and beyond the call of duty for Ethan, a young boy whose parents were taken to the hospital but remain in dire conditions, currently leaving Ethan in the care of his grandmother, which Owen fears is not the best fit and may lead to Owen ending up in foster care.
Though Season 9 has shown Owen and longtime girlfriend Dr. Cristina Yang, played by Sandra Oh, going stronger than ever, Owen's ever-growing bond with Ethan may begin to threaten their relationship. In short, Owen wants kids and Cristina doesn't. She reinforced her lack of motherly yearnings when she was less than eager to agree to Meredith's desire to make Cristina the legal guardian for her child should anything happen to her or Derek, played by Patrick Dempsey.
When it comes to Dr. Bailey, after accidentally killing three patients due to an infection that spread through her gloves, the ever-stern Bailey finds herself in a vulnerable situation and closes herself off to everyone. The other doctors at Grey-Sloan Memorial try to reach out to her and reassure her that she is not to blame, but she is convinced it is her fault.
And finally, a new craniofacial specialist joins the team to help operate on an infant whose brain is growing out of his face. White Collar’s Hilary Burton plays the new "rock star" doctor that everyone on the team is excited about except Arizona. It is later revealed that Arizona and the new face doctor have a history.
