It's the classic tale of four nerds who meet the hot-girl next-door and in this sneak peek of the Big Bang Theory’s latest episode, the ensemble cast of misfit geniuses and their swoon-worthy neighbor continue to serve up the laughs as their conflicting worlds collide.
The episode, titled ‘The Love Spell Potential,’ finds the girls in a conundrum after their trip to Vegas falls through. As a last resort, they agree to play a game of Dungeons and Dragons with the boys -- which spurs all kinds of relationship awkwardness.
Shamy, the couple that is made up of the socially inept Sheldon, played by Jim Parsons, and his equally awkward girlfriend, Amy, portrayed by Mayim Bialik, takes an unexpected turn that is revealed during the DDR session.
As a child prodigy and theoretical physicist, Sheldon has poor social skills and notoriously has shunned the opposite sex claiming to be too busy with work. Amy, a neurobiologist, is Sheldon’s first serious relationship which began after they accidentally met on an online dating site. The unlikely duo have yet to consummate their relationship, but a few drinks with Penny may be just what these two need to kick start the intimacy.
Meanwhile, Raj and Lucy continue to take their blossoming romance to the next level and head out on a very awkward date together. Raj, played by Kunal Nayyar, met Lucy at a singles-only Valentine’s Day party at a comic book store and despite Raj’s longstanding fear of women, he and Lucy continue to slowly, but surely progress as a couple. Lucy, portrayed by Kate Micucci, is a web designer and suffers from the same social problems as Raj, a factor that initially united them.
And finally, all is well that ends well on the Leonard and Penny front. In this episode, Penny is disappointed that the Vegas trip was cancelled, but makes the best of it by getting her drink on and spending time with her beau.
Created by Chuck Lorre, The Big Bang Theory stars Jim Parsons as Sheldon, Johnny Galecki as Leonard, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Kunal Nayyar as Raj, Simon Helberg as Howard, Melissa Rauch as Bernadette, Mayim Bialik as Amy, and Kate Micucci as Lucy.
