Mariah Carey Confirms 'Idol' Exit, Announces Tour

With the global success of #Beautiful, (number one in over 30 countries so far) Mariah Carey announced today that she would be embarking up on a world tour and confirmed that she would not be returning to American Idol next season.

"Mariah Carey is a true global icon -- one of the most accomplished artists on the planet -- and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the American Idol contestants this season," Fox and Idol producers said in a statement. "We know she will remain an inspiration to Idol hopefuls for many seasons to come."

While details of her tour are still unknown, it will be the first time Mariah has staged an official tour since 2009's Angels Advocate Tour.
