C.T. & Diem Talk 'Rivals 2' Romance

By

Fans of MTV's The Challenge have been through a lot with C.T. Tamburello and Diem Brown. Since their relationship has played out over several seasons, we watched them fall in love, we swooned as beauty tamed the beast, and our hearts shattered when they broke up.

After a very rocky patch, the two found themselves in a good place thanks to another season -- The Challenge: Exes -- which served as pseudo-couples therapy by pairing them as a team. Since then things have continued to be good between Reality TV's Royal Couple. Really good.

OK, so they're not officially together, but on the latest season of The Challenge -- subtitled Rivals 2 -- C.T. and Diem find themselves back in a familiar place: one another's arms!

"Diem and I have a special relationship, to say the least," CT told ETonline today at a press day for The Challenge: Rivals 2. "We do, but coming in to this season, I didn't want to hang out with him," Diem adds. "Normally you don't have to spend this much time with your ex, so you can put them in a shoebox underneath your bed. But with these shows, you're forced to constantly re-open that shoebox, take everything out and examine it. Plus, when you add going out to bars with them to the mix, things happen."

As you can see in ETonline's exclusive sneak peek above, C.T. and Diem waste no time falling back on old feelings -- but that doesn't mean C.T. spends the whole season snuggling up to Diem. In fact, he hooks up with another girl in the first episode! "I'm just trying to play the hand I've been dealt the best way I can," he laughs.

"I actually find it funny," Diem says. "I thought the girls were kind of pathetic. Like, if you're going to use your sexuality to get ahead in this game and fall for his [lies], you're an idiot. Have they never seen this show before? That's how he plays. I told him several times, as long as I was his number one vote, I really didn't care what -- or who -- he did."

C.T., however, didn't see it that way. "She'd be creepin' past my room like a mother f*cker [laughs]. It was actually fun for me because if I wanted attention from her, I'd go talk to another girl. And after she shot that girl death looks, she'd look at me and I'd know she still likes me. It's like a backhanded compliment when she chases the other girls away."

So, will this season end with a reconciliation? That remains to be seen -- but, as if our exclusive clip is any indication, things start off on a very good note!
