'DWTS': The New Cast Talks Season 17!

Dancing with the Stars boasts a truly all-star cast this season, and this morning ET was front and center as the 12 teams in pursuit of mirror-ball glory were introduced to an eagerly awaiting public for the very first time.

TV stars, athletes and singers comprise season 17's well-rounded group, including legendary actress and cancer fighter Valerie Harper who, at 74, is embracing the rare opportunity with vigor.

"I said 'no' at first," she said, revealing that her husband Tony pushed her to take on the challenge. "He said, 'What better reason than to do it because you have cancer? That's a good reason. And then take your fat butt out there and dance as well as you can. You won't dance like you used to because you don't have the kick or whatever it is but let's not compare ourselves.'"

As for the young Hollywood spectrum, Glee's Amber Riley also nabbed a coveted spot on the cast, and her partner Derek Hough couldn't be happier with the set-up.

"It's been a lot of fun," the four-time mirror ball champ said of his six days rehearsing with the lively actress. "For me it's really exciting because you can teach the dancing but you can't teach the charisma, the energy, and the personality. [Amber's] got that. I'm excited."
