While critics were lamenting the lack of Emmy love for Parks and Recreation, Tatiana Maslany and Parenthood, one oversight went unnoticed: Arrow's snub for Outstanding Stunt Coordination. Blue Bloods, NCIS, Revolution and Southland are this year's nominees for the award, which has been handed out since 2001. And not to take anything away from those shows, but it's insane that The CW's Arrow -- which, hands down, features the best fights by leaps and bounds -- was not honored.
Star Stephen Amell recently voiced our shared criticism on Facebook, writing, "Been meaning to mention this for awhile... Arrow not being nominated for an Emmy in Stunt Coordination makes it difficult for me to take that awards ceremony seriously on any level whatsoever. We have 20 sequences that are better than anything that is nominated. We actually created a list of said 20 sequences [click here to watch parts one, two and three].
Thankfully Arrow: The Complete First Season dedicates an entire featurette to their stunt team, brilliantly led by James Bamford, and ETonline scored an exclusive sneak peek at those bold boys in action! Watch as Simon Burnett, Stephen Amell's stunt double, is asked to leap tall buildings in a single bound by stunt coordinator JJ Makaro.
Arrow The Complete First Season hits DVD on September 17.
