Robin Quivers Returns to Howard Stern Show Studio
October 02, 2013
Howard Stern's longtime radio partner Robin Quivers returned to the Howard Stern Show studio on Wednesday after a 17-month battle with cancer.
"I could never be without you again," Stern told Quivers during his broadcast on SiriusXM Radio. "Seriously, I've been praying for this day and I'm happy that you're here, and it makes me very, very happy." Quivers and Stern previously kept her cancer diagnosis and treatment secret and she had already rejoined the show, participating via a home studio.
The 61-year-old Quivers -- who recently opened up about her battle over the past year with a cancerous tumor in her bladder that was successfully cured through a combination of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy -- said she knew Stern had doubts whether she would ever return. "I had a feeling you thought this day would never come," she said.
"You know what, honestly, I did not think this day would come... I was very, very depressed over your illness. I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be," Stern said. "There was a time I really did think I was going to lose you permanently. And I'll tell you what, this is a pretty remarkable day, that you are here triumphant and cured. I never would have predicted this."
