She's gotten rave reviews for her powerful performance in BBC America's drama Orphan Black and is about to appear in a two-episode stint on NBC's Parks and Recreation beginning Thursday, October 17. Here are five things you probably don't know about Tatiana Maslany.
1. Born September 22, 1985 in Saskatchewan, Canada -- the eldest of three siblings -- her mother was a translator and her father a woodworker.
2. At age 7, she began putting on for-pay performances with her brother to entertain family members and by age 9, she was ready for her first audition for a role in the musical Oliver.
3.  Did comedy improv performances for 10 years and even participated in the Canadian Improv Games for young comics.
4. One of her first breakout roles was in the 2006 TV movie Booky Makes Her Mark, which co-starred Megan Follows and Stuart Hughes.
5. Her latest movie, Cas & Dylan, was directed by Beverly Hills 90210 star Jason Priestley. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss as an ailing man who plans to check out on his own terms, but takes a reluctant detour when he inadvertently winds up on the lam with an "anything-but-normal" 22-year-old girl (Maslany).
