Rebel Wilson Rules In 'Super Fun Night'

The girls of Super Fun Night are having a super fun time working on one of ABC's hot new sitcoms, and with comedy genius Rebel Wilson helming the project, the atmosphere couldn't be more fun.

At its core, Super Fun Night is about three friends, Kimmie (Rebel Wilson), Marika (Lauren Ash) and Helen-Alice (Liza Lapira) who set aside every Friday night to hang out and have fun. When Kimmie's life starts to fall into place, her friends worry that they may start to drift apart.

ET
was invited to visit the Super Fun Night set, and in this episode Kimmie's sister is having a luau-themed engagement party, hence the swimsuits, grass skirts, and the particularly hilarious hula dancing display.

However, the real breakout of the show, in more ways that just being the star, is Rebel Wilson. Aside from leading the cast, Wilson was also the show's creator and works as a series writer. In other words, she's the boss.

"I forget that she's the boss until I realize she has three jobs," said Lapira. "She oversees the scripts, writes the scripts, executive produces, checks all the costumes… she's kind of superwoman."

However, despite the enormous about of pressure that comes with leading a show, and the power that comes with it as well, Wilson never lets it go to her head.

"She's actually really sweet and kind of quiet," said Ash. "It does surprise a lot of people to know that she's like just this really lovely -- a little bit quiet person."

In this Hawaiian-themed episode, two-time Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver plays Rebel's mom. And the legendary actress couldn't help but fawn over Wilson.

"She is a one-off," Weaver told ET's Rob Marciano. "She is extraordinary. She's lovely and I love her. I've always loved her. I never expected to be playing her mother, but I think it's working out well. I think there is something slightly insane about both of us."

Despite the popular success of her show, and the fact that ABC recently ordered more scripts, Wilson seems to be keeping her sense of humor and her humility.

When asked if she's started to embrace the glamour of Hollywood, Wilson laughed. "I don't know. I mean, this weekend, I'm going on a private jet, for the first time ever with the girls from the show. And none of us have ever been on a private jet. So that's pretty glamorous.

"But filming the TV show, every day, for 14 hours a day, is not actually that glamorous," Wilson added with a smile.
