Rob Lowe Dishes on His 'Parks & Rec' Exit

This upcoming season of Parks and Recreation marks the last one for Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones, and Rob joked with David Letterman on Tuesday about the reason behind their exit.

"Amy Poehler has deeply offended both of us and we're not having it," joked Rob. "Amy Poehler's a prick. What are you gonna do?"

Of course their departure has been amicable in actuality and the Golden Globe nominee seems to have ambivalent feelings about leaving.

"Six episodes turned into 88 episodes," Rob said proudly, referring to the fact that his character was originally meant to go no further than a six-episode arc.

Two weeks from now, Rob is set to shoot the episode in which he and his TV "baby mama" (Rashida) will say their good-byes to the show. In July, Parks and Recreation executive producer Michael Schur dished on the farewell, telling ETonline, "They are wonderful, funny, committed actors, they've been a huge part of the Parks and Rec family, and we think we have a great Pawnee send-off in the works for them."

Late Show with David Letterman airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35 c on CBS.
