Sarah Jessica Parker, who trained in ballet as a child, has produced and narrated a splendid new documentary that chronicles life behind the barre for AOL called city.ballet.
Through interviews with current company members (from Apprentices to Soloists to Principals) and Artistic Director Peter Martins, the 12-episode series gives viewers an inside look at what it takes to join, and maintain a spot, at the prestigious New York City Ballet.
Each episode focuses on a different faction of life at the NYCB and elaborates on another dancer's journey to the stage. From maintaining relationships to breaking social stigmas and achieving their dance dreams, the series taps directly into the vein of this rarely-seen world and will leave you longing for more.
