As the old saying goes, fortune lies out there for the man brave enough to seek it. Well, Zeke Tenhoff and his crew of gold-hunting ice divers from Nome, Alaska are those brave men.
In this clip from the season premiere of the hit Discovery Channel documentary series Bering Sea Gold: Under The Ice, Zeke and his gang of divers are scouring the ocean floor for nuggets of gold.
The payoff can be hundreds of dollars an hour, but the divers' shifts are five to six hours long, constantly panning through the dirt, breathing through a mask, and battling off hypothermia, all in an effort to hunt for as much gold as they can get during the short ice season.
The new season of Bering Sea Gold: Under The Ice premieres Friday, November 8 at 10/9c on the Discovery Channel
