Kirstie Alley is back on TV, and she's returning with friend and Cheers co-star Rhea Perlman, comedy legend Michael Richards, and hilarious sitcom newcomer Eric Petersen for the wonderful new TV Land show Kirstie.

In the show, Alley plays a Broadway diva named Maddie Banks. When she was younger, she gave her infant son up for adoption. Twenty-six years later her long-lost son Arlo (Petersen) tries to reconnect with his biological mother after his adoptive mom passes away.

Perlman plays Thelma Katz, Maddie's personal assistant, and Richards plays Maddie's slightly-crazy personal driver Frank Baxter. Together, they help Maddie navigate the road of life and to become a real mother.

ET was at the New York launch party for the show, and was able to talk to Alley and the rest of the cast about how exciting it is to finally get Kirstie on the air.

"You're always excited when you get an opportunity to act, and an opportunity to do what you love," said Alley at the launch. "Sitcom is what I love most in the acting world. So I'm excited. I hope everybody loves it because we have a great time doing it."

"You know we've been working on [the show] for what feels like a year," said Petersen. "We shot the pilot last December, then we shot all of our episodes this past summer. And I am so excited, because I really think it's a good show. I think it's a funny show that people are going to really like, and hopefully will really enjoy watching."
