Zsalynn is looking to change her life, and is documenting her journey on TLC's My 600-lb Life.
Zsalynn has faced weight issues as far back as high school, weighing nearly 375 lbs. at her high school prom. In an attempt to pull herself out of a well of self-pity, she founded NAAFA, the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance, where she made many friends and found a husband.
She was proud of her body and her life, but as the pounds added up, her health began to deteriorate and she realized something needed to change. Wanting a better life for her and her daughter, she sought the help of a bariatric surgeon and several nutritionists.
However, her husband refuses to change his eating habits and disapproves of her trying to lose weight, because fell in love with her as an overweight woman. This struggle only adds obstacles to their marriage and to her fight to get healthy.
