ETonline has an exclusive first look at an all-new episode of NBC's Growing Up Fisher, in which Katie Fisher finally gets her "freedom" in the form of her driver's license, but there's a big catch. Watch the video above for a sneak peek.
Kids grow up so fast, don't they? That reality sets in even more when they can legally operate an automobile, like in the new episode Katie, You Can Drive My Car, airing Tuesday, April 8. Lawyer Mel Fisher (J.K. Simmons) is realizing there's not much he can do about his daughter Katie (Ava Deluca-Verley) getting her driver's license except to find excuses to ride with her everywhere she goes. Embarrassed by shuttling her dad around town, since she wanted the car to herself for a change, Katie confronts him only to find out that his protective behavior stems from an incident during his youth that shaped his need to do the right thing.
Meanwhile, Mel's ex-wife Joyce (Jenna Elfman) is trying to fit in with her community college classmates and uses her son Henry (Eli Baker) to get in with a study group. Actor/producer Jason Bateman provides the voice-over narration for Henry's inner thoughts.
Growing Up Fisher airs Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30 c. on NBC.
