Alex Trebek Is Now A Guinness World Record Holder!

Doesn't it feel like Alex Trebek has been hosting Jeopardy forever? Well, it might not be forever but it is officially the longest time anyone has ever hosted a television game show.

On Friday, the iconic Jeopardy quizmaster was awarded a Guiness World Record For Most Game show Episodes Hosted By The Same Presenter, meaning he is now a bona fide trivia question.

Since Trebek began hosting Jeopardy in 1984, the formerly-mustachioed 73-year-old has hosted 6,829 episodes of the legendary game show. During that time he's asked an estimated 400,000 questions to tens of thousands of contestants.

"This is special in the fact that it means I've been around for a long time, and have had the good fortune to be associated with a program like Jeopardy," said Trebek, in the video of him receiving his record certificate. "It also means that I've been around a long time."

The show, currently in its 30th season, is set to begin its 31st season in September, while Trebek's contract is set to expire in 2016. It is unknown if Trebek will retire at that time, or continue with a renewed contract.
