Elisabeth Hasselbeck Trashes Rosie O'Donnell's Return to 'The View'

The gloves are off between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O'Donnell.

Though the two appeared to be civilized with one another during Barbara Walters' reunion show on The View in May, Hasselbeck called in to Wednesday's Fox and Friendsto voice her displeasure over reports that O'Donnell is officially returning to The View.

Hasselbeck, who said she was currently on a "staycation" with her kids, didn't mince words.

"What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?" she said. "Talk about not securing the border. Here comes to The View the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there."

She also claimed that O'Donnell's return to the hit ABC was "in the works for a long time."

"She walked around with a lot of control [at The View reunion show] and when I got a chance to talk with her, Rosie herself told me on set while we were mic'd up that she produced the reunion show to have everybody together and it was her idea," she alleged. "Would you think that the women who left the way that she did would be producing Barbara Walters' goodbye show? Now here's the shocker, it was actually her 'Hello' show."

Hasselbeck and O'Donnell famously butted heads in an infamous on-air fight on 2007, which started over the war in Iraq but quickly spilled into personal issues between the two.

O'Donnell never returned following the tense episode.

Hasselbeck also had this advice for O'Donnell Wednesday -- don't mess with Whoopi Goldberg.

Hasselbeck quipped, "I don't think it would be wise for Rosie O'Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything."
