Girl Meets World, the highly anticipated continuation of the cult '90s hit Boy Meets World, has been renewed for a second season, Entertainment Tonight reports.
The series, which centers on Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard), daughter of fan-favorite couple Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga Matthews (Danielle Fishel), has appealed to multiple generations making a perfect show for families to watch together.
"The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with Boy Meets World," Adam Bonnett, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide said in a statement. "We're looking forward to watching Riley Matthews and Maya Hart make the world their own, as Cory and Topanga teach them life lessons along the way."
The network announced Wednesday morning that since its June premiere, Girl Meets World has ranked as television's number one series among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14. In addition, the comedy has also generated 4.7 million views on the WATCH Disney Channel app for mobile devices. (And honestly, we're not surprised—it's freakin' adorable!)
And if you just can't get enough of all the Cory and Topanga goodness, you're in luck because all the Boy Meets World fans out there are in for a serious treat! In the series' upcoming holiday episode, "Girl Meets Home for the Holidays," fans will also be treated to the ultimate Boy Meets World reunion.
Betsey Randle and William Russ are set to reprise their roles as Amy and Allen Matthews, Lee Norris will return as Minkus—aka Farkle's (Corey Fogelmanis) father—while Rider Strong will once again grace our TV screen as the perfect-haired Shawn Hunter.
Girl Meets World airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on Disney Channel.
