Meryl Streep Recalls Robin Williams' 'Unstoppable Energy'

Meryl Streep nearly broke down on Tuesday's TODAY when asked about the death of Robin Williams.

"It's hard to imagine unstoppable energy, stopped," a visibly emotional Streep said of the actor. "He was such a generous soul."

actress never worked with Williams but knew him through Christopher and Dana Reeve. "He was always very loyal to them (the Reeves) and their foundation," she continued with tears in her eyes.


TODAY
co-anchor Matt Lauer added to that sentiment, saying, "He will be truly missed."

Williams passed away on Monday, Aug. 11, in his California home of an apparent suicide. He was 63.
