Collins has been cast perfectly, taking on the role of Grand Duchess of Oxford, the mother of Queen Helena (Elizabeth Hurley). The character is to enter the series with a "an entourage and an agenda" as she is "the only woman in the world more formidable and imposing" than Queen Helena.

"I am delighted to be part of this very entertaining project," Collins told People.

Fans of One Tree Hill will be delighted to hear that The Royals will be written, directed and produced by OTH's Mark Schwahn, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. It is to premiere in 2015.
