Jake Johnson is spilling scoop on an amazing (but totally fictitious!) future couple.

"It's perfectly fine to watch TV all day." A quote by Nick Miller—aka the most relatable character in the history of the world.

Since this is exactly how we at ETonline like to spend our days, you can imagine our squeals of excitement now that New Girl, one of the consistently best comedies on TV, is finally returning to Fox tonight for their fourth season.

To celebrate our impending reunion with Jess, Nick, Schmidt and the rest of the hilarious gang, we caught up with star Jake Johnson to get the inside scoop on what's coming up in the highly anticipated new season. (Pssst! For even more New Girl spoilers about tonight's premiere, click here!)

Last season, fans got the chance to explore Nick and Jess as a full-fledged couple, only to watch the adorkable duo get ripped apart as the year came to a close. Even though the relationship ended, (and the couple is still living together!) don't expect to see too many awkward moments thanks to a time jump in tonight's premiere.

"I don’t think they want to harp on the Nick and Jess stuff this season, I think they're kind of blowing past it a little bit. I don't think they want to do the drama stuff right now," Johnson said. "I think Nick and Jess will always have a little thing for each other, but I don't think they want to focus on that for a bit."

Okay, time to fess up. Could the New Girl star live in the same apartment with an ex, freshly after a heart-crushing break-up? "Oh nooo!" he spilled. "No way. That's not reality, man, that's crazy." Agreed.

So what's next for Nick's love life now that he and Jess are dunzo? It's time for another loft romance! "Schmidt and Nick are definitely living together and there might be a little thing cooking there," the actor spilled with a coy smile. "I just want to say that season four is very interesting. Schmidt reveals his feelings for Nick and maybe Nick is a little sick and tired of fighting it." Say whaaaaaat?!

It's clear that Johnson was being facetious when describing these flirtations, but we couldn’t help but love the idea that this fan-favorite bromance could evolve into a full-fledged romance. So of course, we happily played along and asked if there would be wedding bells for this amazing (but totally fictitious!) future couple. "I don’t think they're going to get married, but if they do they're just going to elope," he answered. "Winston can officiate it." Well then, mazel tov to you both!

On a more serious note, Johnson revealed that he is loving Nick's bro-tastic storyline this season. "I think they've been writing Nick really funny this year and I enjoy it doing it and I really like my stories with the dudes and so I've been having fun."
