Lily Rabe Joins 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' as Her 'Asylum' Character

Does this mean all the American Horror Story series are connected after all? AHS fans freaked out on Wednesday when it was announced that series regular Lily Rabe would be putting her nun attire back on from AHS: Asylum to reprise her role as Sister Mary Eunice on Freak Show.

Sister Mary's return won't be the first crossover between the two seasons. Pepper (Naomi Grossman) was a patient in Asylum and is now one of the carnival freaks this season. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sister Mary is part of Pepper's story line and will help explain how she went from the freak show to being institutionalized.

But that's all a still a few episodes away. Though she's scheduled to shoot her scenes this weekend, Rabe doesn't show up in the season until the 10th episode.

Rabe's return isn't the only exciting AHS casting announcement! It's also being reported that Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka will join the cast but in separate episodes.

This news comes after it was revealed that NPH and Burtka turned down roles to play a couple in the first AHS season, Murder House, because they had already portrayed a somewhat dysfunctional couple in A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. It's a shame we never got to see NPH in that rubber suit!
