Will they or won't they? That is the eternal question for NCIS: Los Angeles' Marty Deeks and Kensi Blye.
While the NCIS: LA writers do a good job of not giving fans a definitive answer to their relationship status, Deeks and Kensi themselves, Eric Christian Olsen and Daniela Ruah had plenty to say about Densi's "relationship" when they stopped by to chat with ETonline.
"This is a great example of real flawed human characters that are just trying to put the pieces together," Eric says of the fans' investment in Densi. "As far as them both being incredibly independent but then finding someone who makes sense for them that understands that journey... It's really fun to watch these two creatures build a relationship together."
"There's a mutual understanding of certain emotions," Daniela adds. "They're both kind of broken because of certain things and I think they're helping each other fix themselves."
Could Deeks and Kensi be in it for the long haul? Only time will tell but Daniela admits that she can picture the pair getting married one day.
"I don't think that will happen anytime soon," she says. "But to a certain degree, I think that it's kind of owed to these characters to end up together whenever that may be."
Eric and Daniela's on-screen chemistry may come as no surprise, but in real-life they are relatives. Daniela married Eric's brother David earlier this year.
"We started to play this couple thing [on the show] before we became brother and sister-in-law," Daniela says of their on and off-screen relationship. "Because we've gotten to know each other so well over the years, it's made the family thing seamless."
She later adds, "The family thing makes everything better. It's just the cherry on top."
Daniela and David are parents to River Isaac (13 months), while Eric and his wife Sarah are parents to Wyatt Oliver (10 months). The families spend a lot of time together on-set along with co-star Chris O'Donnell, who has four kids and LL Cool J, who has five of his own.
"With the babies, just going through the same phases of our lives at the same time just kind of makes you relate even more," Daniela says. "So if [Eric] comes up with bags up to here I’m like, 'Yup, I feel you!'"
NCIS: Los Angeles airs Monday nights on CBS.
